It was four years ago when, almost as a joke, I decided to undertake
this adventure in the Internet by publishing a small page with some
pictures of my Luna Rossa model. Since that time the small page has
grown,
even though not as much as I would have desired, and www.VelaRC.it was
born. Then it came the Forum that
by now hosts more than 250 users
and more than 2000 posts and counting… Therefore I decided that the
time for a new step ahead was come. So here it is this new version of
both site and forum; more modern, more flexible, safer and overall
better suited to interact with You visitors/modelers! I will try to add
new contents on a regular basis, of course as much as my job and family
duties allow. Therefore be patient if you will encounter some "in
construction" pages here and there and maybe help me to make it all
more interesting by letting me know what you think and contributing with pictures and articles!
Please excuse if my english translation is not that good and, please,
don't be afraid of writing me if you find errors of any kind! Of
course, if you feel like helping me with the english translation,
you're more than welcome!

The new IACC class made its debut in 1992. Il Moro di Venezia was the italian boat used to compete in the Louis Vuitton Cup, the races to select the America's Cup challenger. Designers were facing for the first time the new rule; this made it necessary to build five versions of Il Moro to have a really competitive boat. Results came soon: Il Moro V won the Louis Vuitton Cup and raced the America's Cup where it was defeated 4-1 from Bill Koch's America3.
This kind of boat appeared in the 2005-2006 Volvo round the World Race edition.
